Makurdi — A Magistrate's Court sitting in
Gboko, Benue State has remanded a teenager in prison custody for
allegedly raping two siblings aged five and seven.
Eighteen year old Ageebee Iorja of Tom-atar, Gboko-south was arraigned based on the allegation that he had carnal knowledge of the sisters under a mango tree.
The prosecution told the court that one Mrs. Beatrice Akaayar of the same address reported the matter at Gboko Division 'A' police station, claiming that she caught the accused in the act.
According to the prosecution, Akaayar was looking for the victims when she found them under a mango tree in the bush with the accused committing the act. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecution then asked for an adjournment to enable it complete investigation and also seek relevant advice from the Ministry for Justice.
